healthcare &
affordability
No family should go broke just because someone gets sick. But too many of us are paying more for premiums, prescriptions, and out-of-pocket costs while politicians play games.
No one should have to choose between paying for medicine and putting food on the table.
The Problem
Wisconsin is one of just ten states that still hasn’t expanded Medicaid — a decision that’s cost us more than $1.5 billion in federal funding and left tens of thousands of working Wisconsinites without affordable coverage.
At the same time, rural hospitals are closing, prescription drug prices keep climbing, and mental health care is out of reach for too many families.
Bills to cap insulin costs, protect rural maternity wards, and fund school-based mental health services have all stalled in the Legislature — while families like mine are left fighting to navigate a system that’s already stretched to its limit.
As a mom of three — one with a rare disease, another with special needs — I’ve seen firsthand how fragile our healthcare system really is. When one link in the chain breaks, families pay the price.
What I’ll Do
I’ll vote to expand BadgerCare, lower prescription drug prices through state bulk purchasing, and ensure rural hospitals and clinics have the support they need to stay open.
I’ll back legislation to increase access to mental health professionals in schools and communities, expand telehealth options for rural patients, and support caregivers with better pay, respite care, and family tax credits.
And I’ll use my platform to push for systemic change — because no family should have to fight this hard just to get the care they need.
Why It Matters
Healthcare isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a basic need.
When people can afford to see a doctor, refill a prescription, or access therapy for their child, they can work, learn, and take care of their families.
That’s what keeps communities strong and economies stable.
This isn’t abstract policy. It’s personal.
I know what it’s like to spend nights in the hospital, to fight insurance denials, to rely on a nurse or therapist who becomes part of your family.
Every Wisconsinite deserves that same chance at care, dignity, and hope.
